
On February 4, 2020, Detectives of the Criminal Investigations Division (CID) at the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office (SO), assisted by the North Star Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force (NSMDTF), executed a search warrant at 10 Monticello Avenue, Panacea, Florida, and arrested four subjects on drug charges.
Detectives of the CID have received multiple citizen complaints alleging drug activity at 10 Monticello Avenue, Panacea, Florida. Through making controlled buys of methamphetamine at that location and conducting surveillance during a protracted investigation, CID Detectives developed probable cause to believe there was methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia at that location. CID Detectives obtained a search warrant, which was executed on February 4, 2020. At the time the search warrant was executed, the residence was occupied by Charles Kevin Agerton, aka “Hank;” Paula Beatrice Kilgore; Admiral Doyle Barwick; Summer Harris; and Brent Hughes. During the search of the residence, over three ounces of crystal methamphetamine, a user quantity of cocaine, a bag of marijuana, and multiple glass pipes commonly used to smoke methamphetamine were located. Admiral Barwick was in possession of a user quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. During a search of Charles Brent Hughes’ vehicle in the yard, a user quantity of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia were located.
CID Detectives arrested the following persons and booked them into the Wakulla County Jail on the following charges:
Charles Kevin Agerton, aka “Hank,” 56 years of age – Trafficking in methamphetamine; possession of cocaine; possession of cannabis; possession of drug paraphernalia; and maintaining a drug dwelling
Paula Beatrice Kilgore, 53 years of age – Trafficking in methamphetamine; possession of cocaine; possession of cannabis; possession of drug paraphernalia; and maintaining a drug dwelling
Admiral Doyle Barwick, 33 years of age – Possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia
Charles Brent Hughes, 37 years of age - Possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia
Although probable cause existed to do so, Summer Harris was not arrested on February 4, 2020, because of a medical condition; however, Detectives intend to obtain an arrest warrant for her at a future date
The NSMDTF is a task force that began operations on May 1, 2019, charged with conducting drug enforcement work in 10 counties geographically situated in the Big Bend / Central Panhandle area of North Florida. The NSMDTF is comprised of law enforcement personnel from 13 agencies in 10 counties stretching from Gulf County in the west to Lafayette County in the east. The Sheriffs of 10 counties in that region have cross-deputized personnel to conduct drug investigations as a task force throughout the region. An alphabetical listing of the NSMDTF agencies are the ATF, Calhoun County SO, DEA, Gadsden County SO, Chattahoochee Police Department, Gulf County SO, Jackson County SO, Jefferson County SO, Lafayette County SO, Leon County SO, Liberty County SO, Taylor County SO, and the Wakulla County SO.
