Community & Youth Relations

The objective of the Community & Youth Relations Service (CYRS) is to provide an optimum level of services to the citizens and youth of Wakulla County, through crime prevention programs, daily interactions with youth and community events. This is accomplished by reaching beyond the role of proactive law enforcement and becoming coactive with the citizens and youth of Wakulla County.

Just a few of the programs that CYRS is actively involved with are Teen Driving Challenge, Youth Bicycle Safety, S.A.V.E.-Substance Abuse and Violence Education, Sheriff’s Explorer Post, Project Graduation, DUI Saturation Patrols & Checkpoints and River Patrol / Local Search & Rescue.

CYRS also manage several Kiosks placed around the county. These Kiosks allow the public to see missing alerts, wanted felons and sexual predator notifications. Kiosks also carry public service announcements from the WCSO and the Sheriff. The community can also notify law enforcement for a quicker response.
