Sheriff Jared Miller and The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office would like to invite citizens to the 2018 Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy. Academy students will gain knowledge about law enforcement and the criminal justice system within Wakulla County. Additionally Citizens will get an inside look into the daily operations of the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office.
The Academy will be held at the Sheriff’s Office over several weeks, beginning June 5th. The Academy will cover all aspects of the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office including; Corrections, Road patrol, Investigations, Training, Emergency Management, and Communications. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Sheriff Jared Miller, as well as multiple members of the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office. The Academy will include facility tours and presentations on some Sheriff’s Office equipment. Through the Academy Attendees will gain a better understanding of the daily operations of the Sheriff’s Office and the role it plays within the community.
The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy will be held every Tuesday starting June 5th, between the hours of 6:30 and 8:30 PM and will run throughout the summer. Interested citizens are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible as seats are limited, however additional classes are planned.
