The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary reported by David W. Stich of Turner Heritage Homes in Tallahassee Dec. 10,according to Sheriff David Harvey. Construction on a home on Pasture Run Way in Crawfordville was underway when Stich discovered that electrical wire had been stolen. The stolen wire was valued at $1,000. Evidence was collected at the scene. Sgt. Jud McAlpin, Det. Brad Taylor and Lt. Jimmy Sessor investigated.

In other activity reported by the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office during the past week:

• On Dec. 9, Willie B. Timmons of Blountstown reported a vehicle fire in Crawfordville. The Wakulla County Fire Department responded to the emergency. Timmons told investigators that he observed smoke under the hood as he was driving. The fire was caused by electrical problems. The vehicle is valued at $2,500. Deputy Evelyn Brown investigated.

• On Dec. 9, Bryan Lee Taff, 37, of Crawfordville was  stopped by Deputy Matt Helms who was working stationary radar in the Shadeville area. Taff was clocked for allegedly driving 81 miles per hour in a 45 mile per hour zone. Taff did not have a driver license when stopped. His license had been suspended for failure to appear on another case. He was arrested for driving while license suspended or revoked with knowledge and for the active warrant.

• On Dec. 8, Emily Lou Griffin, 20, of Bristol and Matthew William Grant, 18, of Hosford were charged with possession of alcohol by a person under age 21 following a traffic stop in Crawfordville. Deputy Matt Helms stopped the vehicle for driving 53 miles per hour in a 35 mile per hour zone. Alcohol was discovered in the vehicle and disposed of. Griffin and Grant were issued notices to appear in court for the alcohol violation and Griffin was also issued a traffic citation for violation of speed.

• On Dec. 7, Robin A. Hero of Crawfordville reported a criminal mischief at an Ochlockonee Bay home where her real estate firm is an agent for the property. Six Century 21 real estate signs were knocked over. The signs are valued at $40 each, but received little damage. Deputy Ward Kromer investigated.

• On Dec. 9, Paul Anthony Stokley of Crawfordville was charged with aggravated assault and felony battery in connection with a domestic disturbance. Stokley allegedly attempted to run over a female victim with his vehicle. The victim suffered a broken nose and two black eyes in an alleged domestic attack when Deputy Sean Wheeler began his investigation. A witness reported that the female was attempting to get away from Stokley by running from house to house looking for help. The Wakulla EMS unit treated the victim and transported her to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. The victim had allegedly been beaten by the suspect. Deputy Ward Kromer located the suspect vehicle and was joined by Deputy Eveyln Brown and Deputy Wheeler. The three law enforcement officials discovered Stokley hiding in the master bedroom closet at a Crawfordville home. He was transported to the Wakulla County Jail.

• On Dec. 5, Charles E. Hicks of Crawfordville reported the theft of an air conditioning unit, valued at $120. The unit had been stolen out of a rental unit. A suspect has been identified. Lt. Jimmy Sessor investigated.

• On Dec. 4, an abandoned semi truck trailer was discovered near the Oaks Motel in Ochlockonee Bay. The trailer was owned by Phillip Guzzetta of Alligator Point. The owner declined to remove the trailer when requested by law enforcement officials and it was removed from the location by a wrecker. Deputy Matt Helms investigated.

• On Dec. 4, Tracy M. Gagnon of Crawfordville reported the theft of computer equipment from her home. The property is valued at $1,284. A suspect has been identified. The equipment was entered in the FCIC/NCIC computer. Deputy James Plouffe investigated.

• On Dec. 4, Deanna Dawn O'Neal, 33, of Crawfordville was charged with introduction of contraband into a detention facility. Inmate O'Neal was observed with a cigarette by Correctional Officer Lisa Gowdy after visitation. Deputy Mike Kemp investigated.

• On Dec. 1, Sgt. Danny Harrell conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle with no tag displayed. Jeffery Brandon Miller, 35, of Crawfordville was unable to provide his driver license to the law enforcement officer because it had been suspended for a year due to a DUI in Levy County.

• On Dec. 1, a concerned citizen contacted the sheriff's office about a suspicious vehicle near a relative's home. Deputy Andree Brown and Sgt. Danny Harrell investigated and the two law enforcement officials discovered the smell of marijuana in the home. Marijuana and alcohol were discovered during the investigation. Three suspects, Alfred Simson Bonner, 19, of Crawfordville, a 17-year-old Tallahassee female juvenile and James Stinson, Jr., 34, of Wabasso, were charged in the case. The female was charged with burglary, possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of alcohol by an underage person. The two males were charged with trespassing and possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana.

The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office received 975 calls for service during the past week.
