| WCSO investigates report of a juvenile being approached at recreation park |

The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of an attempted child abduction Sunday, Feb. 21 at 7:18 p.m., according to Sheriff David Harvey. A stranger at the Wakulla County Recreation Park reportedly approached a 12-year-old female juvenile Sunday, said the sheriff. The victim was waiting for her parent to pick her up from the facility when a male who opened the door of his vehicle and turned up the music approached her. The victim ran from the man and approached the park caretaker who contacted law enforcement officials. The suspect was described as a black male, six foot, two inches to six foot six inches tall wearing a white T-shirt. He was estimated to be in his late 20s or early 30s. Evidence was collected at the scene and the victim was returned to her mother. Deputy Vicki Mitchell investigated. |
