The Keep Kids Drug Free license plates are one of many offered by the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles through the Tax Collector’s office. The tag was created by the state on July 1, 1998 and costs $25 on top of the regular registration fees. The money collected by the sale of the license plate go toward drug abuse prevention programs like the ones offered through DISC Village. The most recent sales statistics available, July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007, show that $257,125 has been raised by the sale of the tag. The tag has a child-like drawing of two young children enjoying a swing set. The promotional license plates will be on the front of the WCSO fleet vehicles. |
