The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit received 681 calls for service during the time period from Jan. 24 to Feb. 21.
The unit, which consists of Captain Billy Jones, Sgt. Mike Helms and Deputies Ryan Muse, Ben Steinle, William Hudson and Dale Evans, made 26 arrests and conducted 171 area checks.
The group responded to 41 traffic crashes out of total of 44 crashes in the county and made 160 traffic stops with 64 traffic enforcement stops. The unit made 65 citizen contacts and wrote 44 offense reports. The crew escorted two funerals and took part in two parades.
The Victim Advocate Division of Tina Brimner and Laurie Langston made 50 victim contacts and offered 126 services to the victims.
