Wakulla County Sheriff David Harvey and Florida Chief Financial Officer Alex Sink are sponsoring a gathering to “Safeguard our Seniors.”

Everyday hundreds of Floridians fall victim to financial fraud. Many trusting seniors are misled by unscrupulous agents and scam artists into making risky or inappropriate financial investments such as annuities or reverse mortgages.

To help senior citizens become aware of the scams the Safeguard our Seniors event will inform older Floridians about the services available to them to avoid financial fraud.

The program will be held Wednesday, March 31 from 10:30 a.m. to noon at the Wakulla County Senior Citizens Center, 33 Michael Drive in Crawfordville.
