The course covers safety issues with a variety of firearms as well as discussing safety issues for single females who break down in their vehicles on the side of the road. “Public safety is on everyone’s mind,” said Major Maurice Langston. “They received training in pepper spray, Tasers and firearms so they have a working knowledge.” During the question and answer open forum law enforcement officials reviewed what to do in the event that an unaccompanied female breaks down on the side of the road. The answer: call law enforcement, leave vehicle and hide nearby where you can observe the vehicle, wait for law enforcement to pull up to disabled vehicle and come out when police arrive. The next firearm safety course will be held April 24 at 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the firing range. The fee is $40 for members and $50 for non-members. To register, call Major Larry Massa at 926-0821 |
