Activity reported by the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office for the week of
June 15th, 2017 to June 22nd, 2017
June 16th
Ronny Wagner of Crawfordville reported a theft of property. The victim stated that he discovered EZ-Go 36 volt battery charger was stolen from under his carport at his residence in Shell Point. The EZ-Go 36 volt battery charger is valued at $50.00. All information was gathered and documented by the responding Deputy. Deputy William Hunt investigated.
Shannon Dowell of St. Marks reported a felony grand theft of property from a storage room in her residence. The victim discovered several items missing and are described as follows; two 24 karat gold bracelets, one grey 32 inch Sony flat screen TV, miscellaneous men’s and women’s clothing, one LG smart phone, a Wells Fargo credit card, and two sets of miscellaneous automotive tools. The total value of the stolen property is $1,637.00. Suspect information was given to the responding Deputy. All information and evidence was gathered, collected, and referred to the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Deputy Ethan Ard investigated.
Wilton Booth of Sopchoppy reported a vehicle fire. Mr. Booth is the owner of a 1987 Ford F150 and the vehicle had caught fire while he was driving in the area of Booth Gavin and Booth roads in Sopchoppy. The investigation revealed that the fire was possibly caused as a result of a faulty transmission. The fire was extinguished by Fire Department personnel and no foul play is suspected. The information was gathered and documented. Deputy William Hunt investigated.
Christian Knudson of Tallahassee was arrested following a traffic stop for faulty equipment in the area of Ball Ct. and Shell Point Road. The investigation conducted during the traffic stop revealed that the suspect was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license. The suspect was also found to be in possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Wakulla County Jail. Deputy Matthew Hedges investigated.
June 17th
Carol Birdwell of Crawfordville reported that she was the victim of credit card fraud. The victim reported that she reviewed her Visa statement and discovered five fraudulent charges made to her account. The charges totaled $498.79 and were made in the Pinellas Park and St. Petersburg area of Florida. All of the victim’s information and details of the offense were gathered and documented. Deputy William Hunt investigated.
Kerri Bailey of Tallahassee was arrested following a traffic stop conducted in the area of Cumberland Trace Road. The investigation conducted during the traffic stop revealed that the suspect was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license (DWLSR). The investigation also revealed that the suspect has had four prior convictions for driving while her license was suspended making this a felony DWLSR arrest. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Wakulla County Jail. Deputy Brandon Sheffield investigated.
Sergeant Dale Evans was patrolling the area of Wakulla Springs Highway and Old Shell Point Road when he observed a white Chevrolet Tahoe pass by with a faulty tail light. A traffic stop was conducted for faulty equipment. The investigation conducted during the traffic stop revealed that two occupants of the vehicle all had outstanding active warrants. Dusty Carver and Theresa Monroe-Roberts were both arrested for their active warrants and transported to the Wakulla County Jail. Sergeant Dale Evans investigated.
Joshua Collins of Crawfordville, William Taff of Cordele Georgia, and Carissa Vearil of Crawfordville were all arrested following a traffic stop conducted in the area of Coastal Highway and Spring Creek Road. The traffic stop was conducted due to the fact that the driver Joshua Collins was operating the vehicle and speeding doing 69 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. The investigation revealed that the Mr. Collins was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license and all three suspects were in possession of less than 20 grams of marijuana. The suspects were arrested and transported to the Wakulla County Jail. Deputy Matthew Hedges investigated.
June 19th
Tammy Kearns of Crawfordville was arrested following a traffic stop conducted in the area of the 7100 block of Coastal Highway. The investigation conducted during the traffic stop revealed that the suspect was operating the vehicle on a suspended driver’s license. The investigation also revealed that the suspect was in possession of a glass pipe that had residue in it that when tested showed positive for methamphetamine. The suspect was arrested for DWLSR and possession of narcotic equipment and transported to the Wakulla County Jail. Deputy Matthew Hedges investigated.
Lynn Spencer of Crawfordville reported a burglary and theft of property from her residence. The victim stated that she discovered someone had stolen two of her wooden rocking chairs off her back porch. The wooden rocking chairs were valued at $300.00. All of the information regarding the case was collected and documented. Deputy Kenneth Miller investigated.
June 20th
Theodore Brannen of Sopchoppy reported that he was the victim of a residential burglary, grand theft, and criminal mischief. The victim returned home and discovered that his residence had been entered and vandalized. The victim also discovered several items stolen including multiple power tools, an air compressor, a generator, iPad, welder, and a TV. The total value of the stolen property was estimated at $6, 650.00. The victim also estimated the damages done to his residence at $1,000.00. The information was collected and referred to the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Department Criminal Investigations Division. Deputy Curtis Hunter investigated.
David Fulghum of Sopchoppy reported that his shed had been burglarized and property stolen from inside the shed. The victim stated that he discovered a Kraft router, Kraft carrying case with router bits, and two 50 foot extension cords were stolen from the shed. The value of the stolen property was estimated at $480.00. The case information was documented and referred to the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Deputy Evelyn Brown investigated.
June 21st
Roxanne Ziko of Crawfordville reported a criminal mischief, burglary and petit theft to the Trinity Lutheran Church located at 3254 Crawfordville Highway. A window located next to the rear entrance of the church had been busted out. The only thing discovered missing was a jar of pennies with approximately $50.00 in change in it. The value of the busted window is estimated at $165.00. The case information was gathered, documented and referred to the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division. Deputy John Hall investigated.
Joyce Lacey reported a burglary to her son’s residence on Autumn Woods Way. The homeowner is Kenneth Faircloth of Crawfordville. The rear window of the residence was smashed out and the suspect(s) used this area to enter the residence. A Samsung 50 inch flat screen TV and Blu-ray player was stolen from the residence. This property was valued at $300.00. The case information was collected and referred to the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. Deputy Kyle Hanks investigated.
June 22nd
Dorothy Brown of Crawfordville reported a vehicle burglary and felony grand theft of property from inside the vehicle. The victim reported that she discovered that someone had entered her 2014 Ford Escape and stolen her purse. The victim stated that her purse contained all of her identification and $1,800 in U.S. currency. Her purse was located in the wood line a short time later approximately a quarter mile from her residence. The victim stated that she observed a white female with dark hair and a fluorescent orange or pink shirt and shorts walking around the area but did not know if she may be involved. All case information was collected and documented. Deputy Ethan Ard investigated.
This week Sheriff Jared Miller and the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1328 Total Calls for Service, 186 Calls to 911, and conducted 252 Residential and Business Security Checks.
