WCSO Works With Wakulla Citizen to Safely Recover a Missing Elderly Male.

Wakulla Citizen Renee Rozar was working her shift this past Tuesday night at the Wakulla CK Mart at 4345 Bloxham Cutoff Road when she observed an elderly man arrive at the store in a white 2013 GMC Terrain. The elderly man entered the store and Mrs. Rozar thought he seemed disoriented. Mrs. Rozar saw that the elderly man was seemingly confused, and he advised her his name was Boris Gauta and he was lost and scared.

Mrs. Rozar said she thought she recognized the man from a Silver Alert she had seen and was able to obtain a phone number from the man and talk with a family member from Largo Florida who advised he was in fact reported missing. Mrs. Rozar contacted the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Andrea Sessor arrived at the store and was able to speak with the family member and confirm that he was in fact missing out of Largo Florida. Deputy Sessor then had Dispatch work on the confirmations with the various agencies involved. Wakulla Dispatchers Jennifer Hargan and Beeler Roberts worked very hard to locate and confirm the Silver Alert with Pinellas County and supplied the Deputy on scene with valuable information and coordination with the family that allowed the WCSO to safely bring Mr. Gauta to the Sheriff's Office to await family member's arrival.

When asked Mrs. Rozar said "I see so many instances like this go bad and I am just thankful God put him in my path to be able to help."

Sheriff Miller adds " I am so thankful for the help and awareness of Mrs. Rozar, with her help The Sheriff's Office was able to quickly and safely recover Mr. Gauta and return him to his family. I am also proud of Deputy Andrea Sessor and the outstanding work of our Dispatchers Jennifer Hargan and Beeler Roberts. This is a great example of a Wakulla Citizen working with our agency to keep someone safe and ease the worry of another family in a different part of the state!"
