WCSO arrest sex offender for address registration violation

Maguire

On August 19, 2022, Wakulla County Sheriff's Office detectives arrested registered sexual offender Thomas Maguire, 40 years of age, and charged him with; 1 Count - F.S. Statute; 943.0435 - Failure to report change of address.

During the month of August, 2022 - Maguire attempted to register his sexual offender status at a Wakulla County address. Maguire was not able to provide any form of legal identification and stated he was recently released from incarceration in the state of Georgia (within 24 hours). C.I.D. Detective's contacted Georgia authorities and determined Maguire had been deceptive regarding his release dates, and were further informed Maguire had been permanently banned from the entire State of Georgia (excluding Fulton County airport area).

Maguire was subsequently arrested on August 19, 2022 transported to the WCSO Jail by WCSO Road Patrol Deputies without incident.

Sheriff Jared F. Miller would like to remind everyone WCSO has a zero tolerance for sexual offenders not abiding by the rules set forth by Florida State Statute; 943. Those found in violation will be arrested, and held accountable before the courts.
