Sheriff Jared Miller & the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office are excited to announce the recent acquisition of valuable equipment that will improve our service capabilities in Wakulla County. These purchases were made without any expense to the Wakulla County taxpayers.

Sheriff Miller, working with the Florida Sheriff’s Association (FSA), secured funding through two grant programs that are offered with the FSA. First, the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office was one of 18 law enforcement agencies to receive funding to purchase vests for our Deputies through the FSA Bulletproof Vest Grant. Second, the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office was one of 12 agencies selected to receive funding through the FSA Shared Asset Program. Funds from the FSA Shared Asset Program were used to purchase a much-needed marine unit for the Sheriff’s Office.

The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office is in the process of purchasing the vests for our Deputies and the addition of a 22ft G-3 boat with funds from the FSA Shared Asset Program will allow our Law Enforcement Officers to improve and enhance services provided to the citizens of Wakulla County.

“It is wonderful to have such a great partnership with the Florida Sheriff’s Association,” said Wakulla County Sheriff Jared Miller. “The Sheriff’s Office were able to add valuable assets and at zero cost to our citizens. We utilized local businesses by purchasing the boat from Mike’s Marine in Panacea and had the striping done at Signs By Bri here in Crawfordville. These grants are made available to smaller Sheriff’s Offices like ours thanks to the amazing and continued support of FSA members.”
