Questions Concerning Positive COVID-19 Cases & Notifications

There are currently no confirmed positive cases in Wakulla County. However some questions have arisen about when citizens will be notified and if they will be notified about possible exposures.

There are Federal HIPPA laws in place that prohibit the amount of information that can be released in an effort to protect patient privacy. Patients who have potentially been exposed will be asked to self-quarantine and will be closely monitored by the Department of Health, that information cannot be released to the public.

If a positive case is confirmed in Wakulla County that information will not be hidden from the Public but the identity of the individual must be protected.
