Public Comment Invited for Wakulla County Sheriff's Office Accreditation Review

On July 21st, 2020 through July 23rd, 2020 the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office will be reviewed by a team of assessors for the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation, Inc. to determine if they have met the professional high standards set forth by the Commission to achieve re-accreditation status.

"The CFA team will examine all aspects of the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office policies and procedures, management, operations, and support services", Sheriff Jared Miller announced today. the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office is required to comply with approximately 257 standards in order to receive re-accredited status. many of the 257 standards are critical to life, health, and safety issues here in our community.

As part of the on-site assessment, agency members and the general public are invited to offer written comments to the CFA Commission.

"Once the Commission's Assessors complete their review of the agency, they report back to the full Commission, which will then decide if the agency is to receive accredited status. Wakulla County Sheriff's Office accreditation is for three years and is part of a voluntary process to gain or maintain accreditation - a highly prized recognition of law enforcement professional excellence" said Sheriff Miller.
