Operation Death Dealer leads to more drug arrest

On August 12, 2022, Wakulla County Sheriff's Office detectives alongside detectives from the Leon County Sheriff's Office, members of North Star Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force and K9 Officers of the Florida Department of Corrections, executed a search warrant at 52 Centerline Road, Crawfordville, Florida, as part of the continuing efforts of “Operation Death Dealer.” As a result of the search warrant execution, Suzanne Latrell Ward, 46 years of age, was arrested for possession of Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, and Possession of Firearms/Ammunition by a convicted felon.

Operation Death Dealer was began in order to specifically address the rise in illegal fentanyl distribution which has led to numerous overdoses. Those overdoses often lead to serious medical conditions, and or death. Operation Death Dealer is a multi-faceted ongoing operation.

On August 12, 2022, WCSO & LCSO Detectives, members of North Star Multijurisdictional Drug Task Force, and Florida Department of Corrections officers traveled to 52 Centerline Road, upon execution of the search warrant suspected fentanyl was located in a bedroom of the home. The substance was field tested and produced a presumptive positive for fentanyl. Also found in the home located in a blue M&M container was a small bag with suspected methamphetamine. The substance was field tested and produced a presumptive positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl. Investigators also located a Savage rifle .308 caliber with one round located inside of it. Multiple items of drug paraphernalia were found including used hypodermic needles, spoons with drug residue, smoking pipes, baggies used to contain and transport illegal drugs, and digital scales used to weigh illegal drugs. In the master bedroom two pump action shotguns were located in plain view. In the bathroom of the residence Detectives located used hypodermic needles and a bag containing suspected fentanyl.

This post may seem familiar as a search warrant was conducted on this very same house with the same suspect two weeks ago. We want to ensure the community that day in and day out we are relentless in our pursuit of drug traffickers. Particularly ones than choose to continue to poison our community with dangerous synthetic opioid’s.

Suzanne Latrell Ward was arrested and booked into the Wakulla County Jail on the following charges:

4- active arrest warrants for the sell of fentanyl, possession of fentanyl, sell of methamphetamine, and possession of methamphetamine.

• F.S. 893.13.1 Possession of methamphetamine

• F.S. 893.13 Possession of a controlled substance (Fentanyl)

• F.S. 893.147.2 Possession of drug paraphernalia and,

• F.S. 790.23- Possession of weapon by a convicted felon X3
