Crawfordville woman arrested with 114.9 grams of marijuana

Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 23-year-old Crawfordville woman on felony drug charges following a traffic stop on May 5.

Maggie Lee Ogden was charged with possession of more than 20 grams of cannabis and possession of narcotics equipment.

Deputy Stephen Simmons conducted a traffic stop after Ogden threw a lit cigarette out her window that nearly hit his patrol vehicle. Just prior to the traffic stop the suspect threw a second cigarette out of the window. During the stop Deputy Simmons smelled the strong odor of burnt marijuana and observed burnt marijuana cigarettes inside the vehicle.

Ogden handed the deputy two smoking pipes with residue on them and told him about a large bag of marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle. A smaller baggie of marijuana was also discovered in the vehicle search. The marijuana weighed 114.9 grams.

Ogden was given a warning for throwing a lit cigarette out the window. A passenger inside the vehicle was not charged. Deputy Ross Hasty and the WCSO Narcotics Unit also investigated. Ogden posted a $3,000 bond and was released from the Wakulla County Jail.
