Since vehicle burglaries are a crime of opportunity they are also very preventable. The most recommended action to avoid a vehicle burglary is to not leave valuables in your vehicle. Securing your vehicle is another way of keeping intruders out of your vehicle.
Insurance companies may not pay off if the vehicle is left unlocked and items are stolen. Some of the items that are popular to steal from unlocked vehicles include: GPS units, cash, laptops, jewelry, sunglasses, electronics and medicines.
Vehicle burglaries can occur anywhere whether you are at the mall or in your driveway. Do what you can to prevent it and keep from becoming a victim.
