Drug Take-Back Day is planned on April 26

The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office will take part in the National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, April 26.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of prescription drugs, while also educating the public about the potential for abuse of medications.

Three WCSO deputies will be assigned to Crum’s Mini Mall on U.S. Highway 98 in Panacea; Kangaroo Store # 138 on Woodville Highway in Wakulla Station and at the Wakulla County Health Department in Crawfordville. Collections of unwanted medications will be accepted from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

For those individuals who are unable to dispose of their medications on Drug Take-Back day, the WCSO has a disposal receptacle in the lobby of the sheriff’s office that is secure and available 24 hours a day to accept unwanted medications.
