|Sheriff returns $160,348 unspent revenue to county commission|
Wakulla County Sheriff Charlie Creel and Undersheriff Trey Morrison presented a check for $160,348 to the Wakulla County Commission Monday, Dec. 9 from unspent budget revenue from the 2012-2013 budget year.
“The entire agency has pulled together to enable the sheriff’s office to make this presentation to the county commission,” said Sheriff Creel. “We have cut back in areas where we could and we will try to continue to do so again next year.”
The sheriff’s office also raised $2.257 million in jail bed revenue from the federal government over the recently ended budget year and the WCSO has budgeted $150,000 less in the jail bed revenue plans to account for potential federal government shortfalls.
