Lock Your Vehicles: 10 vehicle burglaries are reported

The Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office is investigating 10 vehicle burglary complaints that were filed Tuesday, Aug. 27 in the Ridgewood Drive and Dorothy Loop neighborhoods in Crawfordville, according to Sheriff Charlie Creel.

The victims reported a variety of items stolen from their unlocked vehicles. The cases have been turned over to the Criminal Investigations Division and a suspect has been identified.

“I cannot stress enough the importance of locking your vehicle while at home, at work or out and about in the community,” said Sheriff Creel. “Most vehicle burglaries occur because the perpetrator can access property quickly and easily because the vehicle doors were not secured. By not locking your vehicle you are inviting someone to steal your possessions.”
