Sheriff Creel recognizes eight members of law enforcement staff for outstanding work

Wakulla County Sheriff Charlie Creel presented letters of commendation to eight members of the WCSO law enforcement staff following the outstanding handling of two separate cases.

The first case involved a residential burglary investigated by Deputy Gibby Gibson and Detectives Cole Wells and Clint Beam.
The citizen called the sheriff’s office to thank Deputy Gibson for taking the time to speak to the victim’s daughter about trusting people following the incident. The detectives were also complemented by the citizen for making a quick arrest, returning her property and contacting her in a timely manner.

“I want to thank you for a job well done,” said Sheriff Creel to his deputies. “It is important to me that the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office is represented well and that all citizens are treated with respect. I appreciate your dedication and hard work.”
Sheriff Creel also recognized Lt. Mike Kemp, Sgt. Danny Harrell and Deputies Sean Wheeler, Vicki Mitchell and Billy Metcalf for their part in capturing two teenagers fleeing from Leon County.

“You put your life on the line every day without hesitation and that is to be commended,” said the sheriff. “It is important that the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office keep a good working relationship with our surrounding counties and to assist in their time of need.”

Both Leon County teenagers were captured and arrested as a result of the WCSO law enforcement staff.
