|WCSO volunteers assist Ability 1st provide better access to homes|
Lt. Mike Kemp, Sgt. Danny Harrell and Deputy Richard Moon joined Ability 1st volunteer Eric Evans in replacing steep steps to a home on Hidden Valley Lane in Wakulla Station Monday, April 1. The sheriff’s office staff and Evans work with Accessibility Program Manager Kevin Ogden of Ability 1st in providing better access for Wakulla County residents with access issues.
While the Wakulla Station home had new steps installed that were not as steep as the originals, Ability 1st volunteers have also worked on handicap ramps and other methods to allow Wakulla County residents better and safer access to their homes.
WCSO staff has worked with Ability 1st in the past to provide the volunteer labor to complete the work at other homes around the county.
