|Coalition for Youth, WCSO assist WHS student|
The Wakulla County Coalition for Youth and the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office helped a Wakulla High School student in need Friday, Feb. 22 by acquiring a bicycle that was given to the student to provide transportation for school and family.
School Resource Officer Deputy Scott Rojas and high school staff learned that the student’s family did not have any transportation and asked the Coalition for Youth to step in and help. The student was given the bicycle after school.
The student will now be able to ride to school and also provide some transportation for his family. The Coalition for Youth wanted to assist the student stay in school and also provide a healthy form of exercise, according to Coalition for Youth President Lt. Bruce Ashley.
The bike was displayed at the WCSO with Lt. Ashley, Sheriff Charlie Creel and Wakulla County Commissioner Ralph Thomas, who serves as the board representative on the Coalition, before being presented at the high school.
