WCSO deputies locate another missing child

On Jan. 29, a 30-year-old parent on Brown Blvd. in Crawfordville reported his two-year-old son as missing. The father went to the bathroom and returned to find the back door of the home open and the child missing. When the parent was unsuccessful locating the boy he made a 911 call to the WCSO Dispatch.

During the time between several assisting units being contacted and arriving on scene, the WCSO received a call from a Shadeville Highway residence that the juvenile was located at that location.

Sgt. Mike Helms retrieved the child and determined that the boy was in good health. Deputy Vicki Mitchell determined that the parent was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage and the parent was drinking beer while deputies searched for the child. The Florida Department of Children and Families was contacted and told Deputy Mitchell that they would take a report of the incident. The case was reported at 8:48 p.m. and concluded at 9:23 p.m.
