|Crawfordville man faces felony marijuana charges after traffic stop|
Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 29-year-old Crawfordville man Thursday, April 11 in connection with a felony narcotics violation following a traffic stop on Woodville Highway, according to Sheriff Charlie Creel.
Shane Alan Shappard was arrested for possession of marijuana with intent to sell and possession of narcotics equipment after deputies spotted him driving a motor vehicle at 70 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone.
Deputy Will Hudson conducted a traffic stop and detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle. A search of the vehicle discovered multiple individually packaged marijuana bags as well as glass pipes, rolling papers, currency and a digital scale.
The marijuana bags were collected and the total weight was 35.3 grams. A pill and orange powdery substance was also confiscated for analysis. The total U.S. currency confiscated totaled $207.
Shappard was transported to the Wakulla County Jail without incident. A verbal warning was issued for the speeding violation. Sgt. Jeremy Johnston, Detective Rick Buckley and Deputy Nick Gray also investigated.
