Sgt. Julie Martin began her career with the Sheriff's Office as a communications officer.  "She had completed Correctional Officers training and was also a certified, sworn, correctional officer.  It wasn't long before she was transferred to the Corrections Division that she was promoted to the rank of Sergeant," said the Sheriff.  "Sgt. Martin has the skills and knowledge to operate a sometimes chaotic booking room like a well oiled machine.  What really qualified her for this accolade is her willingness to serve.  Whether it's the citizens we serve or an inmate's family who is going through a difficult time; the same level of service is shown and that is admirable," said Harvey.
