 ALERT********MANDATORY EVACUATION OF SOPCHOPPY RIVER

******************ALERT****************SHERIFF'S OFFICE ALERT************ALERT***********

The Wakulla County Sheriff's Office, Division of Emergency Management in coordination with County Administration, is issuing a mandatory evacuation of homes along the Sopchoppy River. The National Weather Service is projecting moderate flooding to ground level homes and structures. Homes will be flooded or surrounded by water along the Sopchoppy River; secondary roads will also be flooded. Residents in these areas must take steps to protect property and must evacuate. We would like to remind you to avoid driving through flood waters. A shelter is currently open at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 3251 Crawfordville Highway. If you have any questions or need assistance with evacuations, please contact the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office at 850.926.0800.
